This dustjacket design was for a conceptual novel with each chapter intended to describe a city. Each city had a theme which guided its laws. For example, one city was all about the cycle of life and death, another was about surveillance, et cetera. The themes were diverse, but the themes of each chapter were interconnected, leading to a feeling of unity throughout. This cover design plays on this sense of unity and the themes of repetition and opposites throughout the book.
